PMK Task Force of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unud Acted Through Socialization on Strengthening Livestock Management as an Effort to Prevent PMK
Sunday, July 24, 2022. The Task Force of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of Udayana University (Fapet Unud) held the first socialization on Strengthening Livestock Management as an Effort to Prevent FMD in Sipadu 659, Duwi Mekar Farmer Group, Babahan Village, Penebel District, Tabanan Regency. This activity is the opening of the implementation of socialization on prevention of PMK which is planned to be carried out throughout the province of Bali, involving the PMK Task Force of Udayana University and students of Real Work Lecture (KKN) for the July-August 2022 period. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, M.S., IPU.; Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Dr. Ir. Dewi Ayu Warmadewi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM.; Chairman of the Indonesian Animal Husbandry Association (ISPI) Bali Region, Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Putu Sriyani, S.Pt., M.P., IPM., ASEAN Eng.; the lecturers at Fapet Unud, were greeted directly by the Chairperson of Sipadu 659, Duwi Mekar Farmers Group, I Made Kustika; The Head of the Utu Region, I Gede Mardi, and a member of Sipadu 659, the Duwi Mekar Farmers Group, which was covered by Udayana TV.
This socialization began with remarks from the Dean of Fapet Unud, Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Tirta Ariana, M.S., IPU. In his speech, the Dean said that "This activity is an effort of the Bali Provincial Office together with the PMK Task Force of Fapet Unud, and ISPI in responding to and tackling the spread of PMK in Bali Province. The purpose of this activity is expected to be able to effectively tackle the wider spread of PMK in the Province Bali". This activity also presents three resource persons who are competent in their fields, namely Dr. dr. I Gusti Agung Arta Putra, M.Sc., who conveyed about Livestock Maintenance Management for FMD Prevention; Dr. I Made Mudita, S.Pt., M.P., regarding Management of Animal Feed for Prevention of FMD; and Anak Agung Nyoman Wijana, with the topic Practical Instructions for Prevention of FMD. This activity then ended with the provision of Liquid Carbon Bio Silica and molasses assistance as well as a demonstration of making charcoal with molasses as biosecurity to help farmers carry out the prevention and control of PMK in this area.
