Signing of the PKS for the Faculty of Agriculture, Unud and the Faculty of Geography, Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta
In order to strengthen cooperation in the academic field, the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University and the Faculty of Geography, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and Guest Lecture, Friday (12/01/2024). This signing is an official symbol of the joint commitment of both parties which includes mutually beneficial partnership cooperation with the aim of developing and improving the quality of education, science and technology as well as human resources through education, training and community service activities.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, SP., M.Agr. in his speech emphasized the importance of collaboration between institutions in improving the quality of education and research in Indonesia. The group from UMS who attended the PKS signing event was the Dean of the UMS Faculty of Geography, namely Jumadi, S.Si., M.Sc., PhD accompanied by deputy deans and several lecturers. Also present were the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Faculty of Agriculture, Unud, I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Si., PhD, and the Coordinator of the Agroecotechnology Study Program, Dr. Ida Ayu Putri Darmawati, S.P., M.Si, who also provided full support for this initiative.
The signing of the PKS was coupled with a Guest Lecture with the theme "Drone Power Processing and Spatial Modeling". The speaker in the Guest Lecture was Aditya Saputra, S.Si., M.Sc., PhD, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Geography, UMS, who gave an in-depth explanation of Drone Data Processing and explained how drone technology can be utilized in various aspects of geography, as well as the great potential that it has. in field research. The second speaker, Jumadi, S.Si., M.Sc., PhD, who is the Dean of the UMS Faculty of Geography, presented the topic of Spatial Modeling which described the importance of spatial modeling in understanding and dealing with various environmental issues and regional planning.
This activity took place from 09.00 to 11.00 WITA and was attended by lecturers, students and practitioners in the fields of geography and agriculture. The event which took place in the Senate Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Agrokomplek Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, was not only an opportunity to share knowledge but also marked the start of an important collaboration between the two higher education institutions. Through this activity, UMS and FP UNUD hope to increase mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as make a real contribution to the progress of science and technology in Indonesia.
