FAPET UNUD SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ANIMAL SCIENCE AND FOOD SUSTAINABILITY
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University (Fapet Unud) hosted the 3rd International Conference of Animal Science and Food Sustainability (ICAPFS) in a hybrid manner in a series of events for the 61st Unud Anniversary. In collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University, this activity was held at the Bali Dynasty Hotel, South Kuta, Bali for two days, namely Thursday, 7 September 2023 to Friday, 8 September 2023. On Thursday, 7 September 2023, the activities carried out included opening, singing the song Indonesia Raya, prayer, opening dance, report from the Chair of the ICAPFS Committee, remarks from the President of ICAPFS, remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University, remarks from the Chancellor of Andalas University, remarks from the Chancellor of Udayana University who also opened the event , speech and material presentation by the Directorate of Livestock and Animal Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, material presentation and discussion by resource persons from Universiti Putra Malaysia (Prof. Dr. Loh Teck Chwen), University for Development Studies Ghana (Prof. Frederick Adzitey), Centurion University of Technology and Management India (Dr. Naveen Kumar Vate), University of New England Australia (Prof. Renato Andrin Villano), Udayana University Indonesia (Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Mayani Kristina Dewi, M.S., IPU., ASEAN Eng.), and Andalas University Indonesia (Prof. Dr. Ir. Mardiati Zain, M.S.); parallel presentations, announcement of the best presenter, and dinner together. Meanwhile, on the second day, a field trip was held to the Unud Faculty of Animal Husbandry Research Station in Pengotan Bangli and the tourist icon in Kintamani.
This international seminar was attended by 233 participants from various countries and was supported by several universities, both national and international, namely: Musamus University, Halu Oleo University, Nusa Cendana University, Mataram University, Universidade National Timor Lorosae, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Amancio Nicolas Agri Tourism Academy-Philippines. In submitting the report, the Chair of the ICAPFS Committee, Dr. Ir. Budi Rahayu Tanama Putri, S.Pt., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., also expressed his gratitude to all the committees and sponsors who have fully supported this event, including Udayana University, PT Charoen Pokhpand Indonesia, PT Arta Sedana Singaraja, PT Bali Yoni, PT Cau Chocolate, and CV Bali Indah. The Chancellor of Udayana University, represented by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU., said that "Along with the population increase in the last decade, this has led to an increase in demand for agricultural products in general. This unfortunately has had a negative impact on the surrounding environment. Various strategies have been attempted to address the challenges of these changes, one of which is implementing a circular economic system in animal production and green agroindustry. "The hope is that this circular economic system will be able to generate economic growth by maintaining the value of products, materials, and resources in the economy for as long as possible, thereby minimizing social and environmental damage caused by a linear economic approach." Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Udayana University also expressed his hope, namely "Through this seminar, it is hoped that all participants who join with research backgrounds from various institutions and agencies can jointly provide new and up-to-date development strategies through a circular economic system on animal production issues. and green agroindustry."
