Udayana University Faculty of Engineering Students Participate in the Sakura Science Exchange Program at Tohoku University
The Sakura Science Exchange Program is an annual program inviting academics from various countries organized by Japan Science Technology (JST) since 2014. The Sakura Program is intended for participants in this program to exchange science and renewable technology in Japan. This year, Udayana University and the University of Indonesia collaborated with Tohoku University represented by Takuya Mabuchi, Ph.D. to join this program.
Four students of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, namely Amelia Situmorang, Wilcent, Nabiel Rafa Angel Bhaswara, and Kadek Dananta Jayendra with their supervisor Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, ST., MT., IPM. very enthusiastic about this program. This program lasts for 7 days from 11-17 June 2023 with several activity agendas, namely workshops on molecular phenomena using Molecular Dynamics-based simulations, visits to several laboratories within Tohoku University in Sendai City - Miyagi Prefecture, assessment of research collaborations, and on the last day, a workshop program was held at the National Institute of Technology of Hachinohe College in Hachinohe City – Aomori Prefecture.
At the opening of this program, Takuya Mabuchi, Ph.D. hopes to establish other collaborations in the following year, not only in the field of student exchange but also in the field of Visiting Lecturer Programs and/or research collaborations between Udayana University, University of Indonesia, and Tohoku University.
