Travel Medicine Symposium 2023
As an effort to develop one of the leading educational institutions of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University while celebrating the 61st BKFK, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, in collaboration with the Bali Branch of the Indonesian Tourism Medical Association, held the 2023 Travel Medicine Symposium with the theme "Improve Knowledge in Travel Medicine to Support the Revival of Better Tourism" . The symposium lasted for 3 hours which was divided into 3 sessions, with each session presenting three different topics and guided by a moderator.
The first session, entitled "Travel Health Network" was guided by dr. Made Agus Hendrayana, M.Ked. opened Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Tuti Parwati Merati, SpPD, K-PTI, FINASIM with the topic "Development of Tourism Villages as One of The Travel Health Tourism Vehicles". The next topic "Improving Disease Surveillance in Tourist Destinations" was given by Prof. dr. I Made Ady Wirawan, MPH. The first session was closed with a discussion session.
The next session, with the theme "New Hope in Dengue Prevention" was moderated by Dr. dr. I Ketut Agus Somia, SpPD, K-PTI. Just like the previous session, this second session also discussed two topics of discussion. The first topic "Urgency of Dengue Prevention in Adult: Dengue Vaccine as an Innovative Action" was presented by Dr. dr. I Made Susila Utama, SpPD, K-PTI, FINASIM. The next topic raised "Latest Update in Dengue Prevention: Efficacy and Safety Data of Dengue Vaccine" and was explained by Dr. dr. I Made Dwi Lingga Utama, SpA (K).
dr. Gede Wiryana Patrajaya, M.Kes. became the moderator of the last session with the theme "Medical and Wellness Tourism". This session is a collaborative discussion with speakers from the Faculty of Medicine throughout Bali. The first topic, "Medical Tourism", was presented by dr. Made Indra Wijaya, MARS., PhD., DipTH from Warmadewa University. Then the second topic, "Wellness Tourism", was presented by Dr. dr. Made Kurnia Widiastuti Giri, M.Kes., from Ganesha University of Education. The third session was again closed with a discussion session.
Symposium activities are held offline at the Meeting Room dr. A. A. Made Djelantik, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (04/03/2023) which was opened directly by Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes. as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
