Eka Wahyu Hidayat Wins a Doctoral Degree at the 51st Doctoral Promotion Open Session, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University

The Doctor of Engineering Study Program held its 51st open session/doctoral promotion on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 at the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. Promoted Dr. Ir. Eka Wahyu Hidayat, ST., MT., MCE with a dissertation entitled Generative Batik Pattern Design with L-SYSTEM Parametric Fractals. completed his studies within 5 years with a very satisfactory predicate.




In his presentation, Dr. Ir. Eka Wahyu Hidayat, ST., MT., MCE explained that the Batik Generative Algorithm consists of 5 stages starting with preparing the layout, preparing the library, determining the number of iterations, determining the Grammar which consists of axioms, rules, angles, and generating batik patterns. The trials were carried out by simulating and visualizing the making of simple vine motifs and modeling batik patterns with the Parametric L-System. The test results show that the BGA algorithm is capable of generating generative batik patterns using a dataset of batik seeds as a parameter. The use of this algorithm in the batik process can speed up the batik pattern design process.
