Balinesthesi Guest Lecture ”Fluid Stewardship”
The Anesthesiology Specialist and Intensive Therapy Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a Guest Lecture with the theme "Fluid Stewardship" which was held in the Lecture Room of the Department of Anesthesiology, Denpasar. (10/02/2023)
This guest lecture presented panelists Prof. Dr. Manu Malbrain, MD, PhD and Dr. Adrian Wong, BSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCA, FFICM, EDIC., and moderated by Dr. Marilaeta Cindryani Ra Ratumasa, Sp.An, KIC, M.Biomed.
The guest lecture was opened with remarks from the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, FK Unud, Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K), who conveyed that during the transitional period after the pandemic, holding lectures in person was a new stimulus in enhancing the learning process.
The event then continued with remarks from Prof. Dr. dr. Tjok GA Senapathi, Sp.An, KAR., as the Coordinator of the Study Program Specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University and Prof. Dr. dr. Made Wiryana, Sp.An, KIC, KAO. The two professors explained about the role of Fluid Stewardship in optimizing positive outcomes in fluid therapy. Where liquid is no longer just a liquid but also a drug in providing therapy to patients.
On this occasion, the guest lecture was also accompanied by a case presentation from dr. Kristian Felix Wundiawan so that it further stimulates the thinking process regarding Fluid Stewardship and provides real examples of its application to patients.
This event was attended by participants from lecturers and students of the Anesthesiology Specialist and Intensive Therapy Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, who were enthusiastic about getting to know more about optimizing fluid therapy.
