Udayana University Faculty of Animal Husbandry Holds Audience with Karangasem Regency on Regional Innovation System (SIDa)
In an effort to increase regional competitiveness, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Udayana University held an audience with the Karangasem Regency Government through the Socialization of Regional Innovation Systems (SIDa) activities. The activities carried out on Thursday, January 12 2023 were carried out jointly by the Udayana University Team, namely, the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ir. Budi Rahayu Tanama Putri, S.Pt., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Professor and Lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Suparta, M.S., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., and Ni Made Ari Kusuma Dewi, S.Pt., M.Sc.; and the Andalas University Team, namely the Head of the Institute for Education Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M), Uyung Gatot S. Dinata, M.T., Professor and Lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University, Prof. Dr. Ir. James Hellyward, M.S., IPU., ASEAN Eng., and Ir. Amna Suresti, M.Sc. The audience activities that were held were received directly by the Regent of Karangasem, I Gede Dana, S.Pd., M.Sc.; Deputy Regent of Karangasem, Dr. I Wayan Artha Dipa, S.H., M.H., Chairman of the Karangasem Regency Bappeda and his staff.
The SIDa program is a national program that was introduced in 2012. There is a collaboration between Andalas University and Udayana University in driving this program based on the consideration that since its introduction in 2012, the Andalas University Team has succeeded in helping several regions in West Sumatra to realize regional development through SIDa , by increasing competitiveness based on the resources owned by each region, which is realized jointly by local governments, institutions, agencies, and central government. Some examples of the successful implementation of SIDa are the IKM Rendang Payakumbuh IKM Center Technopark, Tanah Datar Weaving IKM Technopark Center, PAT Agam, and Andalas University Science Techno Park. The audience that was conducted was the first visit in order to reintroduce and at the same time provide an overview related to the regional potential of Karangasem Regency which is very possible to be developed through the SIDa program, including in the fields of plantations, training, and industry. Follow-up hearings will continue to be held in the near future, to help the Karangasem District Government succeed in implementing SIDa in the future.
