Udayana University Engineering Science Doctoral Study Program Holds its 59th Doctoral Promotion

The Udayana University Doctoral Engineering Study Program (PSDIT) successfully held its 59th doctoral promotion ceremony on Friday, December 15 2023. The event was held in the Postgraduate Hall, Postgraduate Building, 3rd Floor, Udayana University, Jl. PB Sudirman Denpasar. On this occasion, Ida Bagus Wirahaji, ST., MT succeeded in obtaining a doctorate with a very satisfactory distinction.


His dissertation entitled "Model of Road Service Quality in Tourist Areas" reveals the fundamental relationship between tourism and transportation. Ida Bagus Wirahaji presented the results of a study that showed the need to develop a model for the quality of road services in tourist areas. According to him, car ownership has a significant influence on population growth and land use, which has an impact on the use of private vehicles. Traffic flow in tourist areas plays an important role in mediating between the transportation system, population growth, and the use of private vehicles on the quality of road traffic services.




Prof. Dewa Made Priyantha Wedagama, ST., MT., MSc., Ph.D., PSDIT Coordinator, evaluated the dissertation as chairman of the session. The promoter, co-promoter I and II who were involved in supervising Ida Bagus Wirahaji were Prof. Ir. Putu Alit Suthanaya, ST., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., Prof. Dewa Made Priyantha Wedagama, ST., MT., MSc., Ph.D., and Dr. A.A Gde Agung Yana., ST., MT.


The opponents involved in this doctoral promotion trial involved a number of experts in their fields, including Prof. Ir. I. Nyoman Arya Thanaya, M.E., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Ir. Ngakan Made Anom Wiryasa, MT., IPM., Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Budiartha RM., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Ir. I Dewa Ketut Sudarsana, MT., Dr. Ir. I Wayan Suweda, MSP., M.Phil, and Dr.Ir. I Made Agus Ariawan, ST., MT.

This doctoral promotion event was not only an important moment for Ida Bagus Wirahaji but also enriched scientific literature in the engineering field, especially in the context of the relationship between tourism and transportation which has a broad impact on the development of tourist areas in the future.
