Presenting Ombudsman Prov Bali, Public Administration FISIP Udayana Holds Public Lecture
Wednesday, (20/9/2023). Responding to the many public complaints about public quality, the Udayana University Public Administration Study Program seeks to provide insight and knowledge to Udayana University Public Administration students so that they can know the right strategy to improve the quality of public services. The Public Lecture presented by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of Bali Province took place in the Sudirman FISIP Building Hall.
The existence of Ombudsman representatives of Bali is an important part of supervision of public services in Bali, especially in responding to public complaints about the occurrence of Maladministration. This needs to be conveyed clearly, especially to the realm of higher education, because the participation of students is important in participating with the Ombudsman to oversee public services in Bali Province. Therefore, the Public Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University held a Public Lecture with the theme: "The Strategy of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Representative of Bali Province in improving the quality of public services".
The activity which took place in the Sudirman FISIP Building Hall was initiated by remarks from the Coordinator of the Public Administration Study Program, Mr. I Putu Dharmanu Yudartha, S.Sos., M.PA. Followed by remarks by the Vice Dean III of FISIP Udayana University, Mr. Dr. I Made Anom Wiranata, S.IP., M.A, who also officially opened the Public Lecture activities. The Public Lecture was presented by a resource person from the Ombudsman, Mrs. Ni Nyoman Sri Widhiyanti, SH and was also attended by a number of lecturers within the Public Administration Study Program.
Quoted from the material provided, Mrs. Ni Nyoman Sri Widhiyanti, SH explained that the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, is a state institution in charge of overseeing State Administrators and government, including individual bodies that organize certain public services. This Public Lecture also discusses the duties, principles, and authority of the Ombudsman, as well as explaining maladministration cases that often occur within the scope of public services and several security systems that are carried out to prevent maladministration cases. At the end, documentation was also presented in each series held by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia representative of Bali Province.
During the running of the material session by the speaker, participants Public Administration Students were very enthusiastic to listen to the material provided and were active in asking questions to the speaker. At the closing ceremony, a certificate was handed over to the speaker by Mr. I Putu Dharmanu Yudartha, S.Sos., M.PA as Coordinator of the Public Administration Study Program and Ida Bagus Made Wedhana Manuaba as Chair of the Public Administration Association. Then the event was closed with a group photo session.
