Study of Boerka Goats in Bali, Led I Nyoman Suyasa to Earn a Doctor of Animal Husbandry Science, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University
Animal Husbandry Science Study Program (S3) Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, again gave birth to a Doctor in Animal Husbandry Science, I Nyoman Suyasa is a Researcher from BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency), through an open doctoral promotion examination led by the Chairperson, Coordinator of the Science Study Program Animal Husbandry (S3) Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Nyoman Suryani, M.Sc., (Thursday, 13 July 2023).
The Promoter Team consists of Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si., Dr. Drh. I Gusti Agung Arta Putra, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Nyoman Suryani, M.Sc. Presenting 6 supporting lecturers and 4 invited academic lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry of Udayana University. The dissertation that was successfully defended was entitled "Study of Morphometrics, Analysis of Growth Genes and Review of the Quality of Boerka Goat Meat in Bali". From the results of the dissertation research, a novelty was obtained: "1. Complete scientific data on quantitative morphometric data and qualitative characteristics of Boerka goats in Bali; 2. Nucleotide arrangement, genetic distance of GH and IGF-1 genes in Boerka goats in Bali," said I Nyoman Suyasa. The aim of the research conducted was to find out the complete morphometric data, carcass percentage, and meat quality as well as growth gene polymorphisms that affect the productivity of Boerka goats developed in Bali, so that they know their potential for future development.
