In commemoration of Mother's Day which falls on December 22 2022, Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held an early detection activity for breast cancer and cervical cancer which took place at the Cakra Vidya Usada Building (CVU). (21/12/22)
The event began with the introduction of all DWP members of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, who were introduced by the Chairperson of the DWP FK Unud, Dr. dr. Urged Made Wihandani, M.Kes, who later in his speech said that breast cancer and cervical cancer are still a major problem in Indonesia with a high risk of death. Therefore it is necessary to carry out early checks to find out the risk of cancer cells in our bodies.
"The hope is that mothers will be motivated to increase awareness by way of early detection for prevention of breast cancer and cervical cancer," added Dr. pressed.
The event continued with remarks from the Head of DWP Udayana University, Mrs. Ida Ayu Bulan Antara who also opened the event and she really appreciated this event because breast cancer and cervical cancer are very vulnerable to attacking women.
"The hope is that breast cancer and cervical cancer can be detected earlier so that they can get treatment faster and have a great chance of recovery. It is also recommended for women to do a pap smear every three years to prevent things that are not desirable so that can get the cervical cancer vaccine and not have risky sexual contact," added Mrs. Between.
The event continued with checking blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, breast examination and IVA.
This event was also attended by Mrs. dr. Yuli Eka Wiratnaya, Mrs. dr. Sagita Ady Wirawan, and Mrs. The Coordinators of the Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
