FK Unud Ergonomic Backpack Design by a New Doctor
Located in the third floor Postgraduate courtroom, the Doctoral Promotion exam was held with promovendus candidate Bagus Arbi Adrianto, S.Ds., M.Erg with the dissertation title "Implementation of Laptop Backpacks Based on a Total Ergonomic Approach, Reducing Physiological Risks and Increasing Productivity and Time Effectiveness for Students Visual Communication Design Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar".(23/8/2022)
The Total Ergonomics Approach which consists of Appropriate Technology and SHIP Approach must be carried out in the design and development of technology because human, competitive and sustainable work systems and products will be achieved. Technology such as laptops can help get work done faster, but laptop designs have serious drawbacks
may contribute to an increased physiological risk. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Laptop Backpack Implementation Based on Total Ergonomics Approach.
This research was conducted on design students of ISI Denpasar. This study uses a True Experiment with a randomized pretest and posttest control group design. The number of samples used were 24 students and were selected randomly. Data analysis used the Man Whitney Test, and the Independent T-test.
The results showed a decrease in fatigue, a decrease in musculoskeletal complaints, a decrease in eye complaints, an increase in productivity, and an increase in time effectiveness of .
Changes that occur as a result of the Implementation of Laptop Backpacks Based on Total Ergonomics Approach where the highest changes occur in productivity and time effectiveness.
Ergonomic laptop backpacks can reduce physiological risks, increase productivity and time effectiveness. Ergonomic laptop backpacks are very ergonomic for students because they are designed based on student needs that can be used in various work locations, besides that they do not pollute the environment and use
appropriate technology that applies various sciences in the manufacture of ergonomic laptop backpacks.
