Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University Collaborates with the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University

Along with technological advances, surgical surgical techniques are now no longer a frightening specter for patients. Minimally invasive surgical technique is a surgical method performed with minimal incisions. Integrating camera aids, monitors and special instruments to perform surgery through the monitor screen. Minimally invasive procedures in obstetrics and gynecology are divided into two categories, namely Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy.

 

Against this background, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held a guest lecture collaboration with Cairo University located in the Saraswati Room, Reproductive Health Building, Sanglah Hospital (4/6/2022).

 

In a series of guest lectures, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University on this occasion also signed a cooperation agreement with Prof. Dr. Osama Ahmed Shawki Yacout as Visiting Professor at the Department/KSM Obstetrics and Gynecology FK Unud.

 

This guest lecture brought in speakers who are very qualified and have experience in the field of minimally invasive surgical techniques, especially surgery, namely Prof. Dr. Osama Ahmed Shawki Yacout, where he is also a professor in Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.

 

This event was also attended by the Dean of the Unud Medical Faculty, Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., Director of Sanglah Hospital, Dr. I Wayan Sudana, M.Kes., Chair of Fertility Endocrinology Reproduction (HIFERI), Dr. dr. Hendy Hendarto, Sp.OG (K)., and the Coordinator of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Study Program, Dr. dr. I Nyoman Gede Budiana, Sp.OG(K).

 

Besides Prof. Osama, on this auspicious occasion, also invited dr. Eddy Hartono, Sp.OG (K) who is a staff member of the Obsos Division of FK Hasanudin University Makassar as the second resource person.

 

The activity, which was attended by all staff and students (residents) at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, aims to make obgyn specialist graduates of FK Unud aware of the latest developments in surgical science and techniques so that they can compete at home and abroad.
