Welcoming IKN, Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University Gives Guest Lecture at Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan
Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Nusantara which was set to be located in North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU) of East Kalimantan was enthusiastically welcomed by all levels of society and institutions in the region. In an effort to prepare competitive and superior Human Resources (HR) for cross-sectoral development, one of which is agriculture, the Animal Science Program, Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) of Mulawarman University (UNMUL) held a public lecture entitled "Development of the Livestock Industry in the IKN Area".
Dean of Faperta UNMUL, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Rusdiyansyah, M.Sc. explained that "The development of science and technology are moving fast in all sectors including the livestock sub-sector, so the ability to be able to adapt to the digital world through the development of innovation and creativity is needed". The activity, which was held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, took place at the Faperta UNMUL by bringing in competent speakers in their fields, including: Prof. Dr. Ir. James Hellyward, M.S., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Professor of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Andalas University with the material presented on "Development of Animal Husbandry Industry in the IKN Area".
The Faculty of Animal Science at Udayana University also became a keynote speakers, by inviting Dr. Ir. Budi Rahayu Tanama Putri, S.Pt., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Deputy Dean II of the Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University by presenting the material "E-Commerce and Digital in Marketing of Livestock Products" and Dr. I Nyoman Sumerta Miwada, S.Pt., M.P., who presented material related to "Efforts to Improve the Quality of Competitive Processed Livestock Products".
The Dean of Faperta UNMUL realizes that the potential of both human resources and genetic resources in East Kalimantan is extraordinary and has not been used optimally, so cooperation with all stakeholders is needed in an effort to make this happen. "Through the development of the livestock sector, the participants of the public lecture, which in this case are students as prospective graduates who are competent and full of innovation and creativity, are expected to be able to listen to this activity well as a provision to prepare for the future to build IKN in a better direction. ".
