The digital era is a period in which digital technology plays an important role in shaping and regulating behavior, performance, society, communities, organizations and individuals (Liyanage, 2012). Society needs skills adapted to the digital world, including technical and social skills, as well as digital literacy (OECD, 2019). These technological advances accelerate us towards a more comprehensive transformation towards a network society and create opportunities/challenges for prosperity. Will this condition improve or worsen our well-being?
The Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia, is holding an International Conference which aims to discuss and exchange ideas regarding any problems that may arise, as well as opportunities and positive aspects that can be gained from experiences related to digital technology.
This International Conference was held for two days on Friday-Saturday, 3-4 November 2023 at the Prime Plaza Hotel, Sanur, starting with Pre-Conference activities with resource persons from the University of Indonesia, namely Prof. Dr. Rose Mini Agoes Salim, M.Psi, Dimitri van der Linden Professor of Psychology, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and from the Psychology Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, namely:
1. Ni Made Diah Lestari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D with the topic Narrative Analysis
2. IGA Diah Fridari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D with the topic Mindfulness in the Digital Era
The event then continued with the opening agenda which was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia, Dr. Bagus Takwin, M.Hum., Psychologist. This opening event was also attended by the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Head of the Psychology Department, lecturers from the Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University and lecturers from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia, as well as activity participants from several countries.
The conference activities continued with a presentation session by the Keynote Speaker, namely Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Kristi Poerwandari, M.Hum., Psychologist from the University of Indonesia. The Plenary Session continued with presentations from invited speakers including Eric J. Vanman, Ph.D from The University of Queensland, Australia, Agnes Nauli Shirly, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D from the University of Indonesia, Dr. Mark Brandt from Michigan State University, USA, as well as other invited speakers.
All participants then made presentations in parallel sessions which went smoothly and of course provided new knowledge in the world of psychological scientific research in the world.
