Unud Researcher Becomes One of the Invited Speakers at the HIV Symposium at the University of New South Wales Australia.
Prof. dr. Pande Putu Januraga, S.Ked., M.Kes., Dr. P.H., from the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, FK Udayana University, who also leads the Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI), was one of the guest speakers at the HIV Symposium: Contemporary and Prospective HIV Treatment and Prevention Strategies, organized by the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW) on July 20 2023. Several other invited speakers came from important institutions and well-known universities such as WHO, University of Pennsylvania, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and Weill Cornell Medicine.
The material presented by Prof. Januraga is developments in the implementation of PrEP or HIV prevention before exposure to ARVs in Indonesia, challenges and obstacles and how to encourage this program to be more effective in the future. Prof. Januraga has been involved in the PrEP campaign since 2017 and conducted several related studies to help the Ministry of Health run a Scientific evidence-based program. Some of the research that was carried out received collaborative support from the Kirby Institute UNSW, a prestigious Research Institute at UNSW, a campus which is currently ranked in the top 20 in the world.
The opportunity to become a speaker at UNSW was also used by Prof. Januraga to further discuss the possibility of extending the MoU between Unud and UNSW in various academic activities, especially research and publications in the fields of public health and preventive medicine.
