The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University through the Research and Community Service Unit (UPPM) in collaboration with the Ethics Commission Unit of the Faculty of Medicine Unud held a Guest Lecture by inviting Professor Benjamin Gregg from the Department of Government, College of Liberal Arts University of Texas, USA with the topic of discussion Moral and Legal Guidelines for the Genetic Editing of Individuals Deploying Epigenetics to Identify Responsibility for Genetically Influenced Health Inequalities with apt moderator Desak Ketut Ernawati, S.Si., PGPharm., MPharm., Ph.D., and dr. Putu Yuliandari, S.Ked., Ph.D, who took place in the Prof. Meeting Room. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah, Unud FK Building, Denpasar. (6/6/2023)
The purpose of holding this event is to provide new experiences and insights for students and lecturers, as well as help improve the quality of education and research in the field of Epigenetics within the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
The event was opened directly by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K), who on this occasion expressed his gratitude to Professor Benjamin Greg for agreeing to share knowledge about genetics engineering from the aspect of bioethics. Furthermore, it is hoped that FK Unud can collaborate in research and teaching regularly in the following year. After it was opened, the event continued with presentations by resource persons which were continued with discussion sessions which were attended by all participants from among lecturers and students.
