The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, together with the BPBD of Bali Province, Holds a Security, Safety, Health and Environment Workshop on Disaster, Earthquake and Fire Simulation and Training
The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University together with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Province of Bali held a Security, Safety, Health and Environment (K3L) Workshop with the topic of Disaster, Earthquake and Fire Training and Simulation on Wednesday 7 December 2022 at the Padmasana Wantilan Faculty. Bukit Jimbaran Campus Engineering. This event was attended by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, resource persons from BPBD Bali Province, Lecturers, and all the academic community within the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University.
The K3L Workshop was opened by the Head of the K3L Team, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, Ir. Made Dodiek Wirya Ardhana, ST, MT, in his remarks the Chairperson of the K3L Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University said that the Faculty of Engineering was the first Faculty to declare that we have HSE at Udayana University. Not just a slogan, but it must be manifested in our daily behavior that we understand, are aware of HSE and we are in the process of implementing HSE as a whole and continuously for capacity building in the Faculty of Engineering related to health and safety at work, while still paying attention to the surrounding environment.
This Workshop activity invited several resource persons from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Province of Bali, namely Mr. Nyoman Suanjaya who socialized about "Disaster Management", starting from Indonesia's geological conditions to potential disasters that could occur in Bali. Mr. Rudi Tjandi Socializing about "Basic Fire Theory", which contains the fire triangle, elements in fire, to the use of APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher), and finally the socialization about "Emergency" as well as preparing case examples to explain the countermeasures presented by resource persons I Nyoman Likes Arnawa.
In general, this workshop is a small part of capacity building and will be sustainable. The hope for the future is how we get used to and cultivate K3L in our daily activities. Human instinct is always trying to save themselves and avoid danger. After understanding that, hopefully in the future this K3L will become a habit and can increase awareness regarding safety.
